What is TetraSorb Delivery™, and why is it better than the rest? 



TetraSorb Delivery™ is a new and exciting capsule technology that offers a major advantage over ordinary gel caps. It uses an enteric coating to strengthen capsules, giving extreme protection against premature release and subsequent breakdown of capsule contents. Not only does it deliver ingredients to the gut intact, it also generates additional pharmacokinetic improvement by creating a delayed-release effect. No need for lipoidal alterations, uncertain emulsifying schemes, microencapsulation or pH buffering. TetraSorb Delivery™ ensures that ingredients display slow-release kinetics with their maximum potency preserved.

How does TetraSorb Delivery™ work?

TetraSorb Delivery™ consists of four primary ingredients. Two absorption enhancers which encourage the oral uptake of a multitude of compounds, and two metabolic modulators that help prolong the activity of ingredients by the attenuation of key enzymes. Once a capsule is ingested, it travels past the stomach and into the gut. That’s when the two, potent absorption enhancers are released. One is a very special compound known as Dodecanoic Acid 2,3-Dihydroxypropyl Ester. It belongs to a class of modified fatty acids called SMCTs (Straight Medium Chain Triglycerides.) These acids are shown to increase the permeability of many hydrophilic (water-soluble) compounds by dilating a part of the intestine known as the Tight Junction. They may also work by altering the cytoskeleton of intestinal epithelial cells, explaining why they allow larger molecules to penetrate more efficiently. The second absorption enhancer in our advanced delivery matrix is Stigmast-5-en-3-ol Beta-D-Glucoside. Another natural, yet potent compound belonging to a chemical class known as Saponins. Many different Saponins exist in nature, and are often popular among athletes for their reputed body enhancing qualities, but some of these also demonstrate potent absorption promoting properties with hydrophobic (fat-soluble) substrates.  The absorption supporting properties appear to be mediated by surfactant action, but another transcellular promoting mechanism may be attributed to the way Saponins interact with intestinal membrane stabilizers like cholesterol.

After the enhancers have cleared a path for the actives to enter, two potent enzyme inhibitors enable the unmetabolized ingredients to embark on their target.

One of these metabolic warriors is 6′,7′-Dihydroxy-5-Geranoxypsoralen, and it can increase the blood levels of certain substrates and hormones by over several hundred percent! It does this by interacting with specific CYP isozymes associated with rapid first-pass deactivation of androgens. The other metabolic support ingredient in the enhancing matrix is 1-[5-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-oxo-2,4-pentadienyl]piperidine, and it has been found to inhibit pertinent enzymes as well, including CYP and P-glycoprotein. Increased intestinal expression of P-glycoprotein reduces the absorption of substrates, thus lowering their bioavailability. That means that by decreased P-glycoprotein expression, substrates can reach much higher levels in the body, levels several times greater than normally achievable.

Let’s summarize: The capsule technology gets the active ingredients past the stomach like a protective arc or personnel shield, defending its contents against attack and premature release. Then the capsule opens when it reaches the gut, allowing TetraSorb Delivery™ to take front-line positions on the intestinal battle field. Absorption enhancers then get busy transporting both hydrophobic and hydrophilic compounds deep into the bloodstream, as powerful enzyme inhibitors simultaneously act to start neutralizing the metabolic enemies. This allows the ingredients a straight shot to their site of action, the muscle. Once there they flood muscles intact, ready to execute their ultimate purpose – growth.
